San Simeon, a small unincorporated community situated within San Luis Obispo County on California’s central coast, is located along State Highway 1 approximately halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
HOW TO PAY MY BILL - CAPACITY FEES
Late Payment Policy
Bills are due by 6:00 PM on the 25th of each month. After that time, a late fee (10% of the current bill or $10, whichever is greater) will be added to the account.

Title 22 Recycled Water
The District’s Water Reuse Project
The SSCSD is extremely proud of its Recycled Water System (Title 22). In 2012, the District adopted Ordinance 112 (mandating use of recycled water). The District’s Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) is located at 9245 Balboa Ave. adjacent to Highway One. The Water Recycling Project was installed (2012), to satisfy the Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) mandated by the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB).
Reverse Osmosis Unit
The equipment is capable of treating of up to 3500 mg/L
In July of 2016, the District installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Unit which is used to treat brackish (saltwater) and mineral heavy community water from the existing wells.
Wastewater
The Average Daily Flow (ADF) for the District is 77,500 gpd
The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is located on Balboa Ave in San Simeon. A gravity sewer system conveys domestic wastewater to the District's WWTP.

San Simeon, California has a population of 550 people and numerous ZEBRAS. Although the town is small, it is the home of three jewels of the central coast: Hearst Castle, the Elephant Seal Rookery, and the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse. It is also the gateway to Big Sur. San Simeon offers beach access via Pico Avenue and Vista Del Mar.
